EXPLORING THE WORLD
The Camera
I received my first camera, a Mamiya 645, as a Christmas gift. I quickly realized I wanted even better resolution to create big prints so built my first 4×5 large format view camera. I later splurged on a KB Canham DLC45, and have been shooting with that camera for over 20 years! Exploring the world with a camera is a great excuse to “get out there” because what separates a great image from a mediocre one is really about timing.

FINE ART PRINTS
The Darkroom
I built my first darkroom in my parent’s garage. Since then I have had several darkrooms of various size and designs. There is something magical about watching a print emerge from the developer, and the physical process of making something can be quite cathartic.
